Dear members and guests,
I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the President of Chinese Real Estate Association of America (CREAA) in 2021. I joined CREAA in 2013 hoping to broaden my professional network and learn more about real estate in San Francisco Bay Area. CREAA serves exactly that and beyond. For the past 44 years, CREAA has been serving the Chinese community in the Bay Area, uniting real estate professionals, and most importantly, promoting homeownership among our community and educating our members with up-to-date housing policies. From 2013 to 2015, I was fortunate to serve as Board of Director, Event Chair & External Vice President. I came back to the CREAA family in 2019 after stepping back to start my family, raise two children and start my own real estate broker from 2015-2018. Nevertheless, the involvement in CREAA had speeded my career in real estate helping me building my company and reputation. I also met many close friends and business partners in the organization throughout the year.
CREAA was founded to fight against the discriminations against Chinese real estate agents and Chinese buyers in 1977 and in effort to provide networking and education opportunity for Chinese real estate professionals. Since 1977, CREAA has organized countless education seminars, mixers, workshops and annual homebuying expos to better real estate professionals and voice opinions on better housing policies.
2020 had marked one of the most unusual years in our lifetime with the COVID-19 pandemic. There has been many challenges to our life, our business practice, not to mention that many lives and livelihood have been lost to COVID-19 virus. Under the leadership of CREAA, we fundraised over $20,000 to purchase PPE from different channels to donate to local hospitals and local senior facilities when PPE was most needed at the beginning of the shelter-in-place. CREAA also hosted online education seminars to educate business owners about PPP SBA programs to help small business owners including many selfemployed real estate agents. These education seminars also included information for loan forbearance for small property owners who were impacted by Shelter-in-Place, policies for landlord/tenants evictions procedures during SIP, etc. I am truly honored to be the leader in CREAA who engaged in making our community better and our housing policies better in the local, state and national levels. In 2021, my goal is to help local small property owners and small business owners to recover from the pandemic and go back to the right track. We couldn’t have achieved all our past goals and achieve all future goals without the helps of our board members, officers, honorary advisors, our members and our sponsors.
I am grateful for everyone’s support through the start of 2020 and will do my very best to serve as your President. On behalf of Chinese Real Estate Association of America, we wish you a prosperous and healthy 2021!
All the Best!
Gogo Baoying Wu
2021 President of Chinese Real Estate Association of America
